This is a P-47D Thunderbolt based on the paint scheme used by the 353rd FS, 354th FG of the Ninth Air Force during the Battle of the Buldge in late 1944/early 1945.

THIS PACKAGE INCLUDES THE AIRCRAFT TEXTURES ONLY. TO USE THIS SKIN, YOU MUST FIRST INSTALL MY RELEASE P-47M "Fire Ball" PACKAGE.

"Fire Ball" It is available at http://ww2f.dogfighter.com/ in the MODS section. The "Fire Ball" package contains all of the needed 3D files in order to use this "353rd FS" package. After installing "Fire Ball", install these "353rd FS" files over the top of it.

If you installed the P-47M flight model that was included with "FireBall", you should install the P-47D flight model included in this package in order to keep the flight characteristics true to the airframe depicted in this mod.


Installation
------------
Before installing this, or any other, custom modification, you are advised to make a backup of
your original ww2.sqs archive.

Extract the contents of this archive to the WWII Fighters\Data directory.  Assuming the
default installation, this is: C:\Program Files\Jane's Combat Simulations\WWII Fighters\Data

The files will be extracted to a new directory WWII Fighters\Data\P47_353rd_FS

Using Windows Explorer, navigate to the WWII Fighters\Data\P47_353rd_FS directory.

This distribution includes high-resolution (512x512) textures ONLY.  Users whose video cards do
not support high-resolution textures (e.g. 3Dfx Voodoo1/2/3/Banshee) should NOT attempt to
install these skins.  WARNING: Attempting to install high-resolution textures on a system with a
video card which does not support them will cause the game to crash.

To install the new P-47D "353rd FS" double-click on the install.bat icon.

This will open up a DOS session and the installation will proceed in this window. When
the installation is complete, a message saying "DONE...CLOSE DOS SESSION" will be
displayed in the window. Close the DOS session by clicking on the X close button in the
top right corner of the window.

To install the P-47D flight model double-click on the installFM.bat icon.

Installation is now complete.
